Chinese Astrology - Love Compatibility

There is a lot that your astrological sign can tell you about your love compatibility! Discovering this useful information can help you pick the right partners and take meaningful decisions.

Chinese astrology is a popular system that can reveal a lot about your innate nature as well as your partner's (based on the sign you fall under). Historical records reveal that Chinese astrology and the zodiac signs are derived from the lunar cycle and the zodiac sign of a person is determined by his birth year.

The Chinese Zodiac Signs

There are twelve signs in the Chinese calendar:
  • Rat
  • Ox
  • Tiger
  • Rabbit
  • Dragon
  • Snake
  • Horse
  • Sheep/Goat
  • Monkey
  • Rooster
  • Dog
  • Boar
These signs are believed to run in a cycle, so every twelve years the cycle commences all over again. People who are born in the same year share certain characteristics and personality, and reading through information about their character makes it easy for them to predict their love compatibility.

Which Are The Most Compatible Chinese Astrology Signs?

There is no denying that while the union of certain signs can be beautiful, others can be a total disaster. Hence, it's important to check whether you are compatible with a person before dating him or considering him as a life partner.

The Soul Mates

Given below are the best matches for the twelve signs. Such partnering is made in heaven:
  • Horse - Goat
  • Snake - Monkey
  • Dragon - Rooster
  • Rabbit - Dog
  • Tiger - Pig
  • Rat - Ox
Dragon and dog make an incompatible couple as they are continually at odds with one another and prefer doing things their own way. The Rooster and dog encounter friction since neither agrees with the other. The monkey and the tiger have a hard time tolerating each other because of their opposing outlooks. There is also an open hostility found between the snake and the tiger.

Karmic Friction
  • Dog - Rooster
  • Rat - Goat
  • Ox - Horse
  • Tiger - Snake
  • Rabbit - Dragon
  • Monkey - Pig
According to the Law of attraction, certain souls try to seek each other out and nothing (neither creed, nor caste, nor race) can deflect their karmic connections. Rendezvous are made and they convene from one life to the next. But these meetings are not easily possible. We too have to keep our minds and hearts open. Following the compatibles, laid down by Chinese astrology, it becomes easy to meet people with character traits that are compatible with ours. However, at no point should we construe that the signs are the only factor that affects our compatibility; there are several other factors which we discover as we read on about this historic Chinese system.

Ockam's Razor Theory and Astrology

I have been studying Astrology for decades now, and each day I find a new thought, a new judgement or theory that is believed to add to the understanding of this science. For some it is a life's work, for others it is just a passing thought or an inconsequential relief in the parody of life. However, I continue to research new and exciting revelations, and am thankful daily for the new breed of Astrologer who continue to amaze me. Still, I simply cannot relate to those who feel it necessary to continually build on repetition, on redundancy.

There are the psychologists, the ever manifesting breed of the "new" Astrologer who believe that it is psychology, not Astrology, that bases its concept of how man and the human condition are related. Left to psychologists the bus must go through their gates and arches before one can continue on to the road of Astrology. This is fallacy of course, but there are are many camps that believe it is their road that Astrology must travel before revealing the enigma that is truth.

Then there are the mathematicians, the ones who gave birth to the language of the universe and the measurements that allow for Astrological interpretation at its finest. Without the mathematician how could we Astrologers begin to form the process of how Astrology speaks to us. It is through the scientific mind that the hallowed authority of disclosure is unveiled. There are those that feel Astrology is a pseudo science, yet it was the scientific mind that delivered its body and communications to us.

With, or without this diverse collection of contemporaries I am brought to the theory of "Ockham's Razor." First, a little about Father William of Ockham. Friar Ockham was a 14th century English theologian and logician who believed in the law of succinctness, the law of economy. Ockham wrote "entities must not be multiplied beyond necessity." Ockham 's Razor Theory was and still is used as a rule of thumb to help guide scientists in the development of theoretical models. Father Ockham also wrote that "plurality should not be posited without necessity," profiling my reasons for bringing this esoteric theory to light.

So, what or how does this apply to Astrology? Well, as I have previously stated there are those that continue to lay substructure after substructure in an endless list of theory and application to the science of Astrology. Where or when does it all end, or at least recede? Computer scientist Marcus Hutter mathematically proved that shorter computable theories have more weight when calculating the expected value of an action across all computable theories which perfectly describe previous observations. In other words, "the simplest explanation is usually the correct one."

Many of my students become confused by the diversity and plurality of Astrological theory, and rightly so. Astrology is a complex representation of math, philosophy, culture, belief systems, and understanding. There are the pragmatic, and the impractical, and those in between when it comes to the type of student or teacher of Astrology. The application of Astrology is only further frustrated when an unnecessary theory or rule is forwarded without benefit or advantage. You would not believe how many "old Astrological rules" are no longer considered or employed.

I believe it is wise to remember that when studying anything, "the simplest explanation is usually the correct one."

2011 - All Relationships In The Spotlight

Two high profile relationship stories are in the news.

That is no coincidence. We are in an emotional Universal Month - May, 2011 resonates to 9.

9 allows you to release thoughts and feelings that are no longer serving you.

And this year your feelings will focus on all sorts of relationships in your life. Romantic, social, work-related, mentor-student and family relationships.

Never before have we had an opportunity to blend the peace and cooperation of number 2 with the release from division symbolized by number 11. Your key to happy relationships is reflected in the numbers '2011'.

If you feel your heart is hurt, know that it will open again. It always does. Remember to love unconditionally first, and love will always return to you.

Your opportunity to love and experience love is endless.

It doesn't matter if a person you love does not love you back. You cannot control anyone else's response to your thoughts, feelings and deeds. ALL that matters is that you stay focused, honest, empowered and loving in all your relationships.

Then be amazed at how love and joy and peace fill your life.

Release the worry you feel about others reciprocating your feelings. Release your fear of being alone.

If others attack you, know that all attacks are only a cry for help. Nothing else.

What you give to the world is what you receive in return.

So think clearly about what you want. All creation begins with your thoughts. Thoughts are the seeds of creation. Watch your thoughts closely.

Then put your creative, positive thoughts into words.

Words are incredible manifestations of thoughts. Write your thoughts on paper. Speak them out loud.

The 3rd process of creation is action. Action is your words made manifest.

In 2011 the speed with which you manifest your thoughts and words is truly remarkable. This is because 2011 reduces to 4 - a powerful Manifestation number.

When humanity transitioned from the 1900's to the 2000's, a big shift in consciousness began.

We shifted from focusing on ourselves to understanding our connection to the world around us. To embracing the inter-connection of everything.

Your life is about everyone else whose life you touch. Be whole, integral and honest about who you are. By centering into the balanced energy reflected in the number 2011, which is anchored by a 2 at each end, you will realize how you treat others is how you treat yourself.

However, if you experience the number 2 as insecurity and confusion, and the 11 as duality and separation, you will feel split in two and incomplete.

Make amends with everything that is in conflict with who you want to be. Make peace with your 'perceived' enemies. Every person, every thing, every situation and event in your life is a reflection of you.

11 always brings us choices. What you choose, you EXPERIENCE.

Think, speak and act only from your highest truth, your greatest integrity. The word "integrity" means 'intact, whole' - inseparable from source.

Phone Tarot Readings: Do THIS Before Calling a Telephone Tarot Reader (But Don't "OVER DO" It!)

Are you thinking about getting a phone tarot reading? Curious how much different the tarot is over the telephone, versus going to see someone face to face? Is it harder to read, interpret or position the cards? And what are the advantages of having a tarot reading done "blind"? (i.e. - with you NOT in the same room as the psychic, intuitive or clairvoyant doing the actual reading) If you are anything like I once was, and passionate about everything psychic, intuitive and just plain "cool" to explore, a tarot reading should be tops on your list of psychic experiences to have.

But for me, even after many really eye opening and enlightening readings, the idea of investing in a telephone tarot session seemed a little bit off of the realistic radar. Why? Because it was difficult for me to conceptualize how the tarot cards, being pulled WITHOUT my presence, could be as accurate as those that I "hand picked" in person.

Sound familiar? If it does... I'll tell you why I've learned the actual OPPOSITE is true, and why today, whenever possible... I PREFER to get psychic readings done by phone, and that includes the Tarot as well.

But first... the ONE thing you MUST do before calling a telephone tarot reader:

Do a little bit of due diligence. Read a few reviews. Look for continuity, and consistency in the networks, or individual intuitives you are choosing from. (I like to see a track record of 5 years of readings, and satisfied clients and callers... and if possible, a DECADE or more of continuous service)

But while I recommend you do your due diligence, you do NOT want to overdo it, either! I've met people, and have had folks who read our psychic blogs, who will spend WEEKS picking a psychic to call. What a WASTE of time! Why spend weeks in "analysis paralysis' when if you pick a tarot reader or psychic network who offers 100% money back guarantee's... you don't have to worry about risking a dime, if the reading is bad. (because they'll give you your money back right away as a matter of policy)

So DON'T over do the process of picking a psychic. Just dive in, and have fun!

Now... the reason I prefer phone readings for both Tarot, and traditional psychic sessions?

I find they are MUCH more authentic, pure and "real". I've had many tarot card readings in person, and I always feel just a tad uncomfortable. You can't tell if the reader is picking up body language information, or reading your reactions, or simply guessing based on your age, appearance and attitude. During a phone reading, because everything is "blind", there is a purity to the reading that is PALPABLE, and it's much easier to let your guard down and open up.

Ready to try one out for yourself? Do THIS when BEFORE your next tarot reading.

Set a small budget of 10-40 dollars. I don't care how good the reviews are, never invest a ton of money in a initial reading, until you are sure you are a good mutual match. (because personality, rapport and relationship between two people is KEY to a clairvoyant connection)

Write down a few questions that are MOST important to you before the reading begins. (I like to have 5 critical questions written down before the call begins... if I can get answers to 4 of them, I'm happy!)

Lighten UP and relax! This is another reason I prefer the phone. The truth is, so many people are so STRESSED about speaking to a psychic that the reading goes off the rails, and is no fun for anyone. Remember, this is supposed to be a positive experience, and a little levity and laughter and light heartedness will make the whole reading MUCH better, far more fun and a whole lot more memorable to boot!

You are still adjusting to Neptune now residing in Pisces for the next 14 years. A higher level of consciousness and spiritual awakening is in store for you. But with all your high aspirations don't forget the joy and playfulness in your life. Children can teach you.

The Month of Gemini, 2011

The Zodiac Month Ahead: Furthering upon Awareness

What we all can expect from the forecast of our planetary skies, 21 May to 21 June.

A MEDITATION FOR GEMINI ~John Jocelyn

The essence to be extracted from Gemini is synthesis. When man reaches this power of synthesis, he is reaching out to and recognizing the wisdom of love, the power that unites male and females as well as the divine and the earthly element in the sign of The Twins.

Sun enters Gemini 21 May

Wow Stars. Weren't we all just complaining about Winter? It is certain that TIME is surely MITE as we now have reached the close of Spring! Within Gemini's mutable state, it communicates to us through the element of air that our present season is soon to end. With swift, bright, and alert energy that guides the collective to logical thinking, The Twins stimulate our thirst for knowledge. Time spent in processing information, promising ideas, refining logic, and engaging our questioning natures moves us through this current Zodiac Month. So let those conversations fly, find pleasure in relating, and allow mental pursuits to develop your rational where Gemini lives in your Zodiac Pie.

Solar Eclipse in Gemini 01 June 5:31pm

Our second Solar Eclipse of 2011 brings an extra special spark to the Gemini part of your world as we take in the New Moon this month. Noting the 11-degree Gemini spot within your natal chart points to the exact place to expect some fruitful new energy to unfold from over the next few months. Solar Eclipses, always hand in hand with a New Moon, bring forth important initiations we can look forward to that inspire our lives where ever they kick-off within our charts.

Mercury enters Gemini 2 June; Venus enters Gemini 9 June

More flavor shows up within Gemini as communications and value related energies team up to journey with The Twins. Rapid perceptions with the capacity to see many sides to an issue emerge- coupled by witty, voluble, and humorous methods of expression. Look for affections to bring flirtatious and spontaneous responses; while harmony in romance can be found by pairing up for a short trip.

Jupiter enters Taurus 4 June

Look to where The Bull solidifies in all your Zodiac Pie, and rest assured there are blessings and ease unfolding within this area of the life for the next year. The Philosopher planet brings expansion here, all in the constructive force that Taurus operates from. Collectively, our enthusiasm is best aligned within material pleasures-yet extravagant and self-indulgent energies will not be tolerated. Educating our minds within the realms of conventional, sympathetic, and charitable opportunities are sure to reflect back placid results; ensuring our belief in solidarity.

As we become aware of what remains split within our lives, coming to an understanding of co-operation brings forth the union to further the necessary changes Gemini is here to bestow upon us.

Norse Astrology, Norse Horoscopes - Superior to Traditional Greco-Roman Astrology?

Norse and Greco-Roman astrology differ in their interpretation of the planets, houses, and runes (signs). Given its foundation in Northern European and heathen tradition, Norse astrology provides better spiritual and psychological insight for individuals of Northern and Central European heritage. Because it generates stable house definitions regardless of birth latitude, it is also more appropriate for those born more than 30 degrees north of the equator.

Planets - Perhaps the most striking difference between Norse and Greco-Roman astrology is how they describe planetary energy. Norse astrology uses the gods and goddesses of the Norse pantheon, and, unlike Greco-Roman, Norse is equally balanced between male and female. The most important planets are Odin the Moon and Freyja the Sun.

Female planetary energy manifests itself with Mercury representing Skadhi, Venus representing Frigga, and Neptune representing the Norns. Male planetary energy manifests itself with Mars representing Thor, Jupiter representing Freyr, Saturn representing Tyr, and Uranus representing Loki (who sometimes assumed a feminine form). The northern and southern declinations of the Moon represent Heimdal and Hel. In Norse astrology, the planets have strong affinities to the houses, but a lesser relationship to the runes. In contrast, Greco-Roman planets have strong affinities to the signs (rulerships), but little relationship to the houses.

Houses - An equally compelling difference is the definition of houses in Norse astrology. In contrast to the arbitrarily-placed Greco-Roman houses, Norse astrology uses the eight solar houses of ancient heathen and pagan tradition. The meaning and placement of these eight houses is intuitive and clear. The eternal dimensions of day vs. night and self vs. other define how the houses function within our natal horoscope.

The Night-West house is affiliated with the Norns, the Night house with Skadhi, the Night-East house with Frigga, and the East house with Freyja. The Day-East house is affiliated with Thor, the Day house with Freyr, the Day-West house with Tyr, and the West house with Loki. Odin, the eternal wanderer, has no house affiliation.

Runes - Norse astrology uses 24 equal-sized runes to define the planets' positions along the ecliptic. In addition to providing greater detail, they are a better description of the cosmic forces that influence our 21st century lives. These runes form an alphabet of universal archetypes by which we can explain the attributes of our world, and our selves.

In contrast, Greco-Roman astrology tries to depict these forces through the symbolism of sub-human animals. The runes are eternal, for they are independent of the millennial drift of constellations.

Norse astrology is a superior alternative because of the gender balance of its planetary energies, the intuitively clear meaning of its houses, and its stable and archetypal runes.
